It has been a bit too long since we have sent out an email. However, if your email inbox is anything like mine I am sure there have been plenty of other emails for you to sift through and keep busy with. But we have been at work and have prayed for you, each of our subscribers, many times since our last email went out.

We live in a deeply troubled world. This is not a surprise because in John 16:33 Jesus says “In this world, we will have trouble.” But of course, he goes on to tell us to take heart because he has overcome the world.   It is fascinating that in this world there are multitudes of legitimate solutions to a many of our societal problems. However, many claiming to care and provide solutions are the cause of the problem themselves, and they count on our naivety and our society’s commitments to false causes, false religions, cultural or family connections that cause us to act in a way that is beyond reason. In other words, the devil is busy deceiving us and driving us to insanity in any way he can. 

The hope of the world always has been, and is still, the light and the truth of Jesus Christ shining in the darkness caused by this deception.  And the opening of the Gospel of John tells us that the darkness never will understand it. This darkness is not going to wake up one morning and apologize. Only the light of Jesus will make this darkness disappear.

This is why we work to keep shining the light of Jesus Christ into a dark, busy, and distracted world. Our goal at aquietwater is to help make it possible for each of us to keep on course with a strong but gentle, hopeful, and peaceful heart based on the truth of the Bible. The devil wants us to rail at, excessively worry about, and focus our energy on being dismayed at the darkness all the time hoping we will become frustrated, discouraged, and bitter to the point that we will join with the darkness itself instead of light.

• We continue to add light into the dark world of social media combining the two ways God speaks. That is through nature and the Bible. We do this currently using the largest social media site Facebook and the freest GAB.

• We try our best to provide tools and hints on ways to manage our time, pray better, study the Bible, and remember our blessing through journaling on our website.

• We promote thankfulness and remembrance of our Christian Heritage each year by promoting the Twelve Days of Thanksgiving.

• Our first book The Jesus Journey should be available this fall through Barnes and Noble Press.
